Safety and Quality

Safety and quality are the bedrock of MNATS' operations. The Safety & Quality Management System (SQMS) ensures that all aspects of air traffic control and related services comply with both national and international aviation standards. MNATS’ Safety and Quality division is responsible for overseeing the implementation and monitoring of safety protocols across all operational units.

Key responsibilities are;

  • Safety Management: MNATS adopts a proactive approach to safety by identifying potential risks and hazards in air traffic operations and implementing measures to mitigate them. This includes regular safety assessments and reviews of operational procedures.
  • Quality Assurance: MNATS conducts regular audits and inspections of air traffic control operations, engineering systems, and aeronautical information services to ensure they meet established quality standards.
  • Compliance with International Standards: MNATS adheres to international safety standards set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and works closely with local regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance.

By maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality, MNATS ensures that all flights in Maldivian airspace are managed to the highest possible standards.
